Which Kérastase shampoos are sulfate-free?

The shampoos here listed as sulfate-free are Bain Chroma Respect, Bain Riche Chroma Respect, Première Bain, Curl Manifesto Bain Hydratation Douceur, Gloss Absolu Crème Hydra-Glaze and Symbiose Moisturising Bain. Sulfate-free is most useful for coloured, curly and very damaged hair.

Should I shampoo twice?

Often, yes. The first lather mostly lifts oil and product, and the second is the one that properly cleans the scalp. We suggest two washes with Spécifique Bain Divalent for oily roots, Densifique for fine hair, Chronologiste, Bain Riche Chroma Respect, and Gloss Absolu Hydra-Glaze if you use a lot of styling product. Keep the first quick and take your time on the second, using your fingertips or palms rather than your nails.

Can I use a Kérastase shampoo every day?

Most of them, yes. Bain Lumière, Première Bain, Résistance Bain Force Architecte, Curl Manifesto Bain Hydratation Douceur, Spécifique Bain Divalent and Chronologiste are all described as gentle enough for daily use. The exception is purple shampoo. Use Bain Ultra-Violet once or twice a week as a corrector, with Bain Lumière on the other days.

Is a dry shampoo worth having?

If you want to stretch a blow-dry, yes. Fresh Affair Dry Shampoo, $49.50 (RRP $66), uses rice starch to soak up oil at the roots and add body, and it is silicone-free. Hold it about 15cm away and spray the roots of dry hair, then flip your hair and brush out any excess. It works best sprayed on clean hair the night your blow-dry is done, before oil appears.
