Everyone loses hair every day. Healthdirect says about 100 hairs a day is normal. These are the situations we talk through with clients, and Genesis is only aimed at the first.

What does Kérastase Genesis actually do?
Genesis is a full routine built around reinforcing weak hair. Kérastase says the products reinforce the fibre to reduce hair fall due to breakage, and that the serum helps anchor the fibre more firmly at the root. The result to look for is hair that feels stronger and breaks less on the brush.
What does "84% less hair fall" mean?
You will see this figure on Genesis everywhere, usually without the fine print. According to Kérastase Australia, it comes from an instrumental test after one application of Bain Nutri-Fortifiant, Masque Reconstituant and the serum together, compared with a classic shampoo, and it refers to hair fall due to breakage. So it is a test of three products on breakage. It does not mean the serum alone will cut hair loss by 84%, and it says nothing about regrowth. Kérastase also cites a cosmeto-clinical study of 99 people over six weeks for its serum. We would treat these as the brand's own results rather than a guarantee.

How to use Genesis Serum Anti-Chute Fortifiant
Kérastase's directions are simple, but you do have to stay with it.
Once a day, morning or night, apply 4 doses to a dry or towel-dried scalp, section by section. One dose is a pipette filled to the mark. Do not rinse. Use it over a 6-week period.
Everyday habits that help with breakage
- Squeeze water out with a towel instead of rubbing.
- Comb from the ends up, using a wide-tooth comb, and be gentle while hair is wet.
- Use heat protection every time you blow-dry or style.
- Give tight ponytails and buns a break where you can.
